A part time opportunity exists in our Brisbane – Fortitude Valley office to work as a Claims Technician to assist with a variety of interesting and complex claims for our Marine Division. Work days and hours of work will have some flexibility but will equate to approximately 24 hours per week.  

The successful applicant will be a person who will have;

Essential Criteria:

§  A sound knowledge of insurance claims principles

§  Superior Communication Skills, written and verbal

§  Intermediate Microsoft office skills

§  Typing speed of 60wpm

§  An ability to display  high attention to detail

§  A sound business acumen

§  A willingness to work in accordance with the company mission and values, and comply with policies and procedures, with particular regard to excellence of service. 

§  Displays integrity, confidence, energy and enthusiasm and takes responsibility for their own conduct and development.

Desirable Criteria:

§  Member of ANZIIF or AICLA or similar

§  Certificate IV in Financial Services – Claims Technician

§  Organisational Skills

§  Adaptable to change

§  Able to demonstrate an ability to work well under pressure

Your key responsibilities will include;

§  Data entry/report preparation

§  Assisting with telephone enquires

§  Claims and diary management

§  Ongoing office based file management

§  Milestone compliance management

§  General clerical functions including email, faxing, dictation and preparation of documentation to mail

§  Work with minimal supervision to, corporately with administration staff, seeking assistance where appropriate

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who truly enjoys working within the insurance industry and who can demonstrate previous experience within a claims processing role. Experience within the marine industry would be advantageous.
